Rounds 5 & 6 scheduled to be held at Bark River International Raceway were cancelled due to COVID-19. That did not stop us from racing…ERX Motor Park hosted another double-header filled with nonstop action!
Practice was scheduled for Friday to start the weekend off, but mother nature had other plans! Torrential rain caused all practices to be cancelled, and the schedule was to resume Saturday morning with qualifying. John qualified P11 in the Pro Stock SXS class and P4 in the Pro Lite class. Taking the track against 22 other SXS’s John was able to gain a couple of spots and move into 9th by lap 3. He held this spot through most of the race trying to find an opening to make a move. Finally, towards the end of the race John was able to find some holes and ended the race with a 6th place finish!

The Pro Lite class had 5 drivers registered. With the invert John was starting 2nd. Working to find his momentum John battled back and forth all race and finished 3rd! This put John only trailing the Pro Lite points leader by 11 points!
Sunday started off with another good round of qualifying. John qualified P8 in the Pro Stock SXS class and P4 in the Pro Lite class. The Pro Stock SXS race started off with lots of action – there were 3 cautions by lap 3! John was able to capitalize on some of the cautions and moved his way up to 6th by lap 6. John held his spot and ended with another 6th place finish!

The Pro Lite race was challenging to start. The track was very slick, so John took his time waiting for the conditions to improve. By lap 7 John was on point and made his way into 3rd. Taking advantage of one of the leaders taking a turn too wide, John made his move and fell into 2nd. Battling to keep this position for the final lap, John biked it on the first turn and ended up finishing the weekend with another 3rd place!

Overall this was a great weekend for points! John is 2nd place in points in the Pro Lite class, and has moved into 8th place for points in the Pro Stock SXS class! With (4) rounds left in the 2020 Championship Off-Road Series, anything can happen! Stay tuned as John and Team head to the “Big House” at Crandon International Off Road Raceway next weekend to battle it out in the 450 Mod Kart, Pro Stock SXS, and Pro Lite!
