John Holtger Racing

AMSOIL Championship Off-Road – Crandon International Raceway Crandon, WI – September 4 & 5, 2021

Wednesday, September 1st, the John Holtger Racing crew headed north and moved into The Big House racing pits for the last race weekend of the Championship Off-Road series. It surely was an action-packed, weekend of racing!

Thursday, September 2nd, John hit the track to practice and qualify for the final round of racing on Saturday. Friday, September 3rd, was the historic Crandon parade on Main Street. John’s team handed out over 700 American flags to celebrate the Labor Day weekend.

Saturday, September 4th, was the final day of the AMSOIL Championship Off-Road Races. John went to staging for the Pro-Stock SXS and lined up for the land rush start. John came out of the hole shot in an exciting 6th place and finished the race in 4th place. The ProLite race was a solid fight, and John finished in 7th place. These 2 races wrapped up an exciting season of Champ Off-Road and a solid day of racing.

Sunday, September 5th was the Red Bull World Champion Race. It was a second verse, same as the first for the Pro-Stock SXS with John taking another 4th place. The World Cup ProLite race was beyond exciting as John did not disappoint.

John was using his signature white body in which he won the points championship for the last 3 years and a couple World Cup trophies. The race was indescribable. John went from 2nd to last, to 3rd to last to 2nd to the back of the pack again. On the final lap, heading towards the checkered flag John was in 3rd place coming over the final barn jump and there was steering failure. The disappointment of the crowd was clearly heard. John has really worked hard to build a fan base; and it was defiantly an exciting race in which John displayed his “never give up” attitude to the crowd for the last time of the Championship Off Road season.

John has a great attitude looking into next year. This was a research and development year with John outgrowing his ProLite and suffering a terrible accident. The year was not without success as John had a total of 4 pro poduims during the season.

As always, John enjoyed time signing autographs for his fans and participated in the Yokohama autograph sessions.
